Scottish Life Case Study
Scottish Life, part of the Royal London Group, was founded in 1881 in Edinburgh as a proprietary company, becoming a mutual company in 1968.
The company employs over 1,300 staff, with around 200 working in other parts of the UK and overseas.
Objective
Scottish Life, part of the Royal London Group and one of the leading pension's specialists had identified a requirement for a content management system to manage their public web site.
The web site is accessed by both the public and independent financial advisors and with over 1000 pages it was crucial that the information was accurate and up to date. A prime consideration was that the system was easy to use for non-technical staff.
Solution
The company opted for the Enterprise edition of the Activedition product, for use on multiple servers. This allows for load balancing for increased resilience should any server problems occur.
Onsite deployment on their own hosting infrastructure provided a platform for rollout to other Royal London Group companies including Scottish Life International and Royal London Asset Management.
C2 Software worked with independent graphic designers to implement the templates for the web site. The content for the pages was then populated by the marketing department, resulting in over 1000 pages being submitted to the web site in less than two months.
The bespoke work executed by C2 Software resulted in a successful integration with the existing eService web application, allowing for a seamless integration of the two systems. A custom log-on function was included in the finished web site. This allowed for a secure and flawless end user experience, a prime consideration for Scottish Life.
Implementation of the final project took less than five months, successfully achieving the original timescale set by Scottish life.
