Legal IT 2010 - Activedition stand

Activedition exhibits at the Legal IT Exhibition at the Business Design Centre, London on 10th-11th February 2010. Prior to attending the show we had some trepidation about how the Legal sector would be approaching 2010, but on balance the buzz is back, and there is much more evidence of Legal organisations looking to develop their business processes.  Attendance at the show was up and the standard of on stand conversations showed a lot more foresight than last year.

The role of web content management systems to facilitate competitive advantage whilst leveraging off of back office case management systems, document management systems, and using social media with web 2.0 technologies was widely recognised as a model for return on investment. The whole theme of collaborative content and use of social media was also a good ice breaker with those that we talked to at the show and these themes were also present in keynote speeches.

Activedition now has a number of Legal organisations actively using our solutions for collaboration over intranets, extranets and public facing websites. From our position as a software vendor, it was good to be able to reiterate how our clients have adopted the technology to enhance their operations.

Legal and Financial Services is an important sector for us and there are some definite signs of recovery. While some firms used 2009 as a stepping stone to gain a quick competitive advantage, we now see a significant shift in commitment, albeit firms will inevitably move at different speeds. We were particularly pleased to discuss our web 2.0 solutions and plans for the future with attendees and we welcomed the feedback from this key market sector. Maybe other CMS vendors are not quite so positive, Activedition was the only Web Content Management vendor that showed commitment to this premier event.
